Dreaming of being a big movie star? Appearing in blockbuster movies? Waiting to audition with A-list actors and week-ending with Pamela and Tommy in Malibu after a long week of shooting? Welcome to Hollywood. How can you set yourself apart when you're going on an audition? What makes the difference between appearing in the movie and going home to look for movies to rent at Jungle Video?
Is there a formula to help you in a movie audition? Picturing playing the role already in your head, practicing what you might say to the casting director, something to tell about yourself to help break the ice, your favorite movie and why or most nerve-wracking audition?
In the movie biz, the audition may require acting for a famous director, in front of a camera, and/or crew people who act like they don't care if you drive off a bridge on the way home. These things can throw you off. Use the skills you learned in acting class to pull through. Act like you already are that big movie star when you audition. Eat Sushi, drink cappuccino, tell yourself, "I'm Marylin freekin' Monroe, if I don't get the part, it's their loss." A movie audition requires you to take it all the way.
